I happen to love Zombieland. For a movie that jumped on the zombie bandwagon pretty quickly it ended up being fresh, humorous, and touching. Now the powers that be at Fox and Sony are scrambling to get the zombie comedy to the small screen. It seems with the recent success of The Walking Dead's Season 2 ratings everyone wants the undead to attack them weekly.
Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are working hard on getting the same elements from the film to television. Unfortunately you won't get to see the stars from the movie in the show- due to the fact that some of the actors want higher paychecks. Gee, I wonder who that is...uh, all of them? Zombieland came out before Emma Stone or Jesse Eisenberg were the household names they are today. Additionally, I'm thinking Woody Harrelson is a little busy these days with all that awesome Hunger Games stuff that's coming out.
While I'm pleased to see there's a future for Zombieland, I figure one killer zombie show on TV is enough. To put this in simple math equations:
Mad Men: The Playboy Club= The Walking Dead: Zombieland
Sure, it's a little unfair to compare something to the now dead Playboy Club, but if my skepticism taught me anything it's that history repeats itself.
