Here's the trailer for The Descendants movie, a mellow-looking movie starring George Clooney - and yet another sad middle-aged white dude oeuvre from Sideways and Election director Alexander Payne. Apparently it follows a family man forced to re-evaluate his priorities after his wife is in a boating accident, deciding whether to sell his land in Hawaii left to his predecessors by local royalty. The Descendants movie!

How sad for the wealthy white land owner! Seriously, Payne rivals fellow bourgeoise director Noah Baumbach when it comes to chronicling those BS-y "mo' money mo' problems" problems. Anyway, the movie's called The Descendants and I'm a little disappointed in George Clooney for being in it.
Then again, he's dating female wrestler Stacy Keibler and nobody saw that coming, so what can I say. It's just that this kind of $$$laden issues in The Descendants and movies like it simply feel pre-9/11 in many ways; do you agree?
