Aside from Brian Fellows I have never really been a Tracy Morgan fan. After his homophobic remarks at a stand up show in Nashville this past summer I completely wrote him off. He sat down with David Letterman and they are still talking about it...
Today is National Coming Out Day and I think it is very important that people watch what they say about the gays. Since I am one I feel I have the right to vent about this. Tracy seemed more angry that people did not understand his comedy. It seemed to me that when he sat down to talk to Letterman he was still annoyed by the fact that he had to make an apology.
I understand that comedians have this thing where they go after all different groups of people. Trust me, I get that. I am huge Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers, and Lisa Lampanelli fan. (Did I mention that I was gay?) However, I did think that they way Tracy went off this past summer was pretty inappropriate.
Now I am even more ticked off because he said he apologized because "people paid money to see his show and they were offended by what they heard." So, if they didn't pay and were okay with what he said he wouldn't have felt bad about his comments?
Let's review. He said he would kill his son if he was gay and that being a homosexual is something people acquire from the media. I can tell you that it is not required from the media, but if it was my parents can blame Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia for that one!
I don't know... I know a lot of other comedians may tell very inappropriate jokes from time to time but this Tracy Morgan stuff just rubs me the wrong way. What do you think? Comment below.
