SNL vet and reluctant movie star Bill Murray has a reputation for showing up in bizarre places (karaoke rooms with strangers, for instance), but this really beats the band. No pun intended. But pun intended because f*ck you. The star of Ghostbusters, Lost In Translation, Groundhog Day, Stripes and a ton of other movies showed up at a Harvard/Cornell football game recently and mock-conducted the marching band after they played the "Ghostbusters" theme.
"This guy in pink pants walked up and said, 'Hey, play that song
again,'" said Harvard University Band Manager Rachel L. Hawkins '12.
Hawkins said that the band had no idea Murray was at the game and that
"Ghostbusters" is just part of their usual set list. "He kind of
appeared out of nowhere. It was very serendipitous."
When the game was over, Murray led the Cornell band in some fight songs. Awesome. Just awesome. It's also unclear which band is below - I think it's the Cornell band, but multiple sources are saying Murray also conducted the Harvard band, so I have no idea.
