You know how DC's making an animated movie out of the landmark Batman comic Batman: Year One? That animated movie features one of my favorite Batman rescues to date, and the movie hasn't even come out yet. Allow me to set the scene: Batman's trapped with a bunch of surly SWAT team officers, with few options remaining save violence. The Batman of Year One may be new to the whole crime-fighting racket, but even he is aware that randomly beating up cops willy-nilly is a no-no for aspiring vigilantes. Nevertheless, Gotham's finest seem rather determined to riddle the Caped Crusader with bullets. In the smackdown that follows, Batman ducks and weaves through a hail of gunfire, trying to both stay alive and gain the upper hand over his adversaries. While the fight's in full swing, though, he pauses... to rescue a cat. Also, this scene features dialogue from the one and only Bryan Cranston, and if that doesn't get you a little excited, you're probably not invited to Emily Cheever's birthday.
On to the clip. BATMANNNNN--
Opinion on these clips seems pretty split: Some veteran Batman fans say the movie feels very true to the comic, while others think the heart Year One doesn't come across. What do you think?
