With the upcoming moneymaker Hunger Games already on their docket, Lionsgate ads another Young Adult series to their list of films. Chaos Walking, written by Patrick Ness, is a dystopian thriller set on a distant planet very similar to earth. When a strange cloud like phenomenon sweeps through the new colony, everyone can hear each others thoughts which leads to strange and corrupt power plays by the government.
Color me intrigued, Chaos Walking. Considering I read the Hunger Games in a day and a half, I'll put this on the list. Sometimes when I read Young Adult novels on the subway I get a little embarrassed but you know what? These books are great. They're easy to read, they're pretty exciting, and when the movies come out we can debate how great/terrible the casting is.
No word yet on when the pre-production will start and who they're eying for casting but I promise you readers that I will follow this story and go out and read the books so we can have fun with casting news (much like we did with Hunger Games).
