What, exactly, is Foo? Thankfully, the average American will never have to find out. That's because Dave Grohl and his noble comrades-in-arms are on the front lines every single day, fighting a neverending battle against the forces of Foo. Known to the common people as the Foo Fighters, these men are nothing short of heroes, thwarting the dread schemes of Foo at every turn and keeping the realms safe from Foo incursions.
That's probably why Blizzard has recruited the Foo Fighters to perform the concert that will officially close this year's Blizzcon, the annual event that celebrates all Blizzard's games. Blizzcon 2011 promises all kinds of World of Warcraft goodness alongside some delicious Diablo III bits and hopefully some new information about StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. There's also an emote dance contest, if that's more your thing. Note: The emote dance contest is not an emo dance contest. Note: Blizzard, please feature an emo dance contest at Blizzcon 2012.
Now that they have a Blizzcon performance scheduled, Foo Fighters join Ozzy Osbourne and Tenacious D as part of Blizzard's musical horde. We imagine they'll be getting their epic gear in the mail in the next few weeks so they don't get laughed at for their inferior gearscores while onstage. That's just how Blizzcon is, people. If you didn't manage to snag a ticket to the convention proper, you can buy a digital pass for $39.99 and stream the festivities over the Internet or via DirecTV. It all goes down Oct. 21 and 22. Type 1 if ready, 2 if you need a port!
