Common has been on the talk show circuit recently promoting
his book of memoirs, titled One Day It’ll
All Make Sense. He recently did an interview with Fake Shore Drive, a
hip-hop blog from Common’s native Chicago, right before taking the stage at his
book’s release party in Chi-town.
Com went into detail discussing his upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer, which drops
November 22. We’ve all heard the first single, “Ghetto Dreams”. A tight No I.D.
beat with an outstanding guest verse from nasty Nas.
Apparently the two rap legends aren’t satisfied with making just
one track. During the FSD interview, Com alluded to making a full-length album
with the Queensbridge product. He said the two emcees already have a few tracks
they’ve hidden away, so hopefully we’ll hear those soon while Nasir and Lonnie
work on the album.
I think it goes without saying that a collaborative album
between two hip-hop icons of this caliber not only would have the chance to be
an extremely legendary album, but the demand for such a partnership will excite
fans both young and old. Whether you started to appreciate these two when Illmatic or Can I Borrow A Dollar? dropped, or didn’t discover them until Hip Hop Is Dead and Be, everyone can get excited about such an influential duo making
music together. Check out the interview below.
