It's been a great year for Adele, obviously, with Best Original Song wins for "Skyfall" at the Oscars, Golden Globes and Brit Awards… and PJ Harvey recently set a record by winning the prestigious Mercury Prize for an unprecedented second time&hell...
If you still don't know about Childish Gambino, better known to some as Donald Glover, get with the program. It's understandable if some people still haven't heard his music, but for those who are unaware that this rapper/singer/actor/writer is part of the stellar cast of NBC's Community as well as the sketch comedy crew Derrick Comedy, shame on you. There's a reason he's being called the next Will Smith. The kid (who's actually 27) is hilarious on Community as well as his Derrick Comedy bits. He was writing scripts for 30 Rock with Tina Fey before he turned 25, and is now ready to break out and find recognition as an extemely talented musical artist.
We haven't heard any new music from Gambino since he dropped his five track EP a few months back, but we have gotten word that his debut album with Glassnote Records, Camp, will be released on November 15. Aaaaaand, this is the album cover.
The first single off the album, "Bonfire", premiered on the radio two days ago, and an album quality version of the song has finally dropped. It would be difficult to say that we've heard a track from Donald where he goes this hard. Lyrically, he's very impressive, while sticking to his pop culture referenced punch lines. Can't wait for Camp.
