At the very start of Glee's upcoming third season, we'll see some familiar faces from Oxygen: the four finalists on reality competition The Glee Project, will be introduced on a rolling basis as their prize for getting as far as the finals.
5 Things To Know About The Glee Project Winner Damian McGinty
Interview: Cameron ('The Glee Project')
Interview: Matheus ('The Glee Project')
Interview: Marissa ('The Glee Project')
Glee showrunner and Glee Project judge Ryan Murphy talked about the difficulties of shooting the scenes with the winners on the Fox musical comedy before the final episode of the competition, even going as far as to cloak one finalist, Lindsay Pearce, under a blanket while shooting.
Pearce will play the leader of a singing group that will rival New Directions and get into a near-catfight with Lea Michele. The others will appear later in the season: Damian McGinty as a foreign exchange student who forges a connection with Heather Morris's Brittany and Samuel Larsen as a relative of Puck's (Mark Salling).
Less is known thus far of the part given to the final winner, Alex Newell, though Murphy says he will be "used sort of like Lindsay" and come in later in the season.
As for Cameron, the fan favorite who left The Glee Project on the seventh episode, Murphy said "Not this year," but maybe next.
