Now this is not some f*cked up, repugnant sh*t. Samuel L. Jackson has been cast in director Quentin Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained.
Variety confirmed the news this Tuesday, guessing that Jackson will play Stephen, "a house slave and the right-hand man of a sadistic slavemaster." The Spaghetti Western-style film will follow the plot of a former slave (Jamie Foxx) who rebels against his ex-slave owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). The film, currently set for a Christmas 2012 release date, also stars Christoph Waltz and Kevin Costner. While I'm not sure how I feel about Foxx in the lead role, I'm glad he was chosen over Will Smith. Sorry, but I can't forgive Will for "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It."
Jackson has been cast in four other Tarantino films, creating some of the director's most memorable characters, including the cool and caustic thugs Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction and Ordell Robbie in Jackie Brown. Jackson also appeared briefly in Kill Bill Vol. 2 and lent his voice to Inglourious Basterds.
With this cast assembled, I'm sure Django Unchained will be another fantastic Tarantino film. Any chance Uma can be cast as DiCaprio's wife or something?
What do you think about the cast so far? Are you excited for Django Unchained?
