IRL Zombie Game Forces Gamers to Run

The Ology Team .
GeekOlogy

If you are anything like me, you are going to be absolutely psyched about Zombies, Run! It is a healthy solution for gamers who spend way too long sitting on their butts playing Left 4 Dead- where the only form of exercise is screaming at the screen from time to time. Or hurling a controller into the wall in a fit a rage. Unfortunately, these bouts of unpleasantness occur far too infrequently to actually tone our flabby gamer bods into those sculpture-esque physique of our virtual counterparts.

Brainchild of Six to Start and Naomi Alderman, Zombies, Run! adds health and fitness into a zombie videogame by forcing you to run. It's a brilliant concept, which combines real-life running and interactive storytelling. In order to progress through the Zombies, Run! game, you listen to missions that require you to pass/run to certain check points. By fulfilling these running missions, players are rewarded in-game supplies and weapons. You can then distribute these items to different parts of your base so that the base strengthens and grows into a well-populated safe house filled with survivors.

Zombies, Run! promises to be a heart-pounding adventure with a deep story full of twists and turns. Just listening to the promotional video, featuring a variety of static-y urgent radio messages and horrifying zombie grunts got my heart pounding. I wasn't even running.

This is a chance for all gamers of all shapes and sizes to breathe the outdoor air while playing a game. To learn more about this indie game project and/or donate go to the Kickstarter website. Help this zombie apocalyptic nightmare come true.
