So this Steven Soderbergh-helmed male stripper movie Magic Mike is shaping up to be damn fine, casting-wise; Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Gabriel Iglecias on the boys' side and Olivia Munn and Riley Keough on the girls'.
Now Bridesmaids actress Wendi McLendon-Covey, who played a hilariously acidic wife and mom of a bunch of boys in this summer's femme gross-out comedy (Sample line: "I cracked a blanket in half the other day") has joined the cast of Magic Mike. No word on the role she'll be playing, but the movie's based on actor Channing Tatum's experiences as a male stripper in Florida. He's playing the mentor of new stripper Alex Pettyfer, and McConaughey is the former stripper/club owner.
McLendon-Covey's also gonna appear in the upcoming ensemble comedy What To Expect When You're Expecting. Yay! I think she can add some mature, smart woman-funny to this sausage-fest, don't you?
