I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but between this announcement and that DC earthquake yesterday, all signs point to the beginning of The Rapture. Are you afraid? Because I'm terrified.
Today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs--the man who bravely led the resurgence of the company he co-founded in his garage as a force in the tech game for the past 14 years--has stepped down from his position. Apple is responsible for the production of the iPod, iPad, iPhone, and an extensive line of Mac computers.
The announcement was brief: "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come," he stated in a short letter.
This comes with a curious caveat, as Jobs has been on medical leave for an unknown condition since January. The sudden step down from the company leaves many wondering about his physical health. Steve will be moved to the chairman of Apple, while COO Tim Cook will take his place.
