NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Many ladies love their handbags and will spend a lot of money for the latest and greatest, but a new study says what is inside those bags may be covered in germs worse than what you’ll find in the bathroom.
Despite my role as Fashion & Beauty Editor, I have to confess: I'm not much of a girly girl when it comes to most things. Still, every so often I come across a product, be it something from the beauty realm or a decidedly flawless shoe, that makes me stop in my interwebbed tracks and pour my sartorial heart out until said product is mine. Consider this your entirely biased weekly guide on my favorite things.
You'll have to forgive me, as this week's pick is a little heavy on the wallet. I've been in the market for a new handbag - something big enough to carry my laptop, wallet, a book, a bottle of water, at least six bottles of nail polish, my agenda, my entire makeup mag, my business cards, hand lotion, two packs of gum, a small snack, and change of shoes (just in case) without having to buy something too oversized. Cue Marc Jacobs - The Bowery Satchel from his latest collection just might be the most perfect Italian pressed leather bag to ever walk the planet. The subtle neutral-toned colorblocking means it's completely wearable and easily transferable from outfit to outfit. Priced at $1,195 I'll probably have another few months of savings before this gem makes its way into my closet, unless you're impossibly generous and would like to facilitate my ownership of this bag, because I am now accepting donations.
