Most video game teaser trailers feature pretty CGI videos that are in no way indicative of actual gameplay. That ain't the way Gearbox's Borderlands 2rolls. The eagerly-awaited sequel's armed to the teeth and ready to dispense with the theatrics, electing instead to give us an "in-engine" preview of the game by way of Gamescom. This means the stuff you see here reflects the real experience of Borderlands 2, in so far as a 30-second clip from an outside perspective can do so. The teaser gives us some more time with the Gunzerker, a new addition to the game's cast of playable characters. The Gunzerker looks like a combination of a berserker and a gunslinger, so... looks like the name is gonna work out just fine.
Here's the teaser--just imagine some Cage the Elephant playing over the scenes of skag and mech destruction:
Looks good! I had a blast with the original Borderlands and can't wait to head back to Pandora for another dose of gear-centric mayhem. I wonder whether the characters from the first game will be making a return? You know I'm down to Siren it up, 24/7.
