Holly J managed
to find her mother in ONE DAY. YOU ARE JOKING, but I’m just gonna go ahead and
pretend that people can do that. Her mom reminds her be careful, but Holly J
believes that her mom can help save her life. She calls her up, and her mom is
actually receptive, agreeing to meet up with her at The Dot. Holly J is
surprised when her mother Dawn shows up with her two children. Dawn confesses
that she gave up Holly because she was in school and couldn’t afford to keep a
child. After seeing Dawn with her two children, Holly J can’t bring herself to
ask about donating a kidney, and quickly walks out. To make matters worse,
Holly J’s condition continues to become more and more serious- her doctor suggests that
she defer her acceptance to Yale. With no other option, Holly asks her new mom
to get tested to see if she’s a donor. Dawn agrees to do it, and says that they’ll
take it from there. As it turns out, Dawn is a match for her daughter and wants
to give Holly J her kidney- FOR $20,000. YOU ARE F*CKING JOKING.
Adam wants to
continue the chest reconstruction discussion with his mom, and she reluctantly
agrees to talk with his therapist about it. While he and Katie bond over
journalism, Adam admits that he likes her. She responds that she likes him too,
but she isn’t as ready to jump into things as he is. After meeting with his
therapist, he accidentally tells his mom that the reason he wants chest
reconstruction is because of a girl. But Katie rejects Adam, and though he
pretends he never liked her, it sends him into a funk. Adam decides to join an online FTM group in order to share his experiences with others like himself.
Imogen obviously
snags the lead role in the school play, but she insists on being Eli’s leading lady in
real life, too- until he shuts her down- he’s not in the right mental place to
handle a relationship. So Imogen offers Clare a free steakhouse date with Jake,
then meets up with Eli at the same place and brings the pair to Clare’s
attention. Eli walks away from Imogen, pissed (rightfully so, I’d be pissed,
too), but apologizes the next day. Seeing
Clare last night, he realizes that he’s not over Clare at all, so he asks Jake
to work on set for the play as a way of keeping his enemies closer.
Oh, and Fiona was there. Not sure why. But yaaaay.

So what’s Eli gonna do now, huh?
Is this Dawn chick REALLY serious?!
I wish that Katie would have just liked Adam. It would have
made life so much easier. So much.
