You guys ever just miss a viral video completely? Happened to me. This morning was the first time I'd ever seen Parry Gripp's original song/video "Baby Monkey (Going Backwards On A Pig)," which chronicles a particularly adorable incident of zoological interest:
Apparently, this video was wildly popular on arrival and to date it has amassed over 9 million views, which would completely blow Vegeta's mind. Had it not been for the release of the Baby Monkey (Going Backwards On A Pig) iOS game, I would never have listened to this glorious anthem celebrating the most basic and adorable form of cooperation. Thankfully, the game is a real thing that's happening, and the song is just as catchy as ever. The video game version of Baby Monkey looks pretty simple--you control the monkey and attempt to stay on the pig, jumping up to grab bananas, power-ups, and other collectibles while maintaining your hold as the pig crashes through all manner of zany obstacles. Sounds easy, but let's face it--if you knew the song was going to be playing as you adventured through the world astride your porcine companion, you'd basically play whatever for a chance to hear it again.
So, to soothe your now-permanent addiction to this song, here's the trailer for the game:
The press release says this game is "addicting as Swedish Fish," and man do I love me some Swedish Fish. It also says the game features a tutorial, Achievements, leaderboards, and all manner of associated iOS game swag, as well as support for the iCade. HELL YEAH! I am definitely picking this up for use with the office iCade, which is totally a thing. Be jelly. Be strawberry jelly.
