With the price and quality of counterfeit bags on the rise, it's getting increasingly difficult to know if you're buying the real thing. While the only true way to tell is if you purchase it at retail in a department store or renowned boutique (hint: if you're on Canal Street or in China Town, it's a fake), there are a number of genuine vintage bags available at online auction stores like Etsy and eBay. The WSJ talked to Portero Accessories Director Elizabeth Bernstein to find out how to eyeball when it's not the real deal.
