Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel, still wiping the vestiges of M. Night Shamalayan's sh*tshow The Last Airbender off of his person, has joined the epic cast of Aaron Sorkin's HBO pilot, More As This Story Develops. Patel was working before he broke out in the Danny Boyle Oscar bait, having starred in the British Skins.

The pilot, Sorkin's foray back into TV after his Academy Award win for The Social Network's screenplay, revolves around a cable news network and co-stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Sam Waterston and Olivia Munn. Patel will be a series regular who also works at the channel. Greg Mottola will be directing the pilot.
Sorkin's also working on another project, a miniseries about the famous Chateau Marmont, with The Office star John Krasinski, which kind of makes me vomit.
