I am Josh Harrison, and I'm here to ask you a question: Is a GeekOlogist not entitled to novels based on highly successful, atmospheric, story-driven shooters? "No!" says ArtsOlogy, "novels belong on our channel!" "No," says ChicOlogy, "you guys are such nerds!" I rejected those answers. Instead, I wrote a post about BioShock: Rapture, a novel based on the spliced-out series.
BioShock: Rapture is a literary prequel to Irrational Games' original BioShock, and it's due out July 19th. Lucky GeekOlogist that you are, though, you can check out an introductory chunk of the novel ahead of schedule right freakin' now on the Tor Books website. Seriously. Check it out. It will be like you have an awesome plasmid that allows you to look into the future.
In case you need a little more convincing, the book's written by John Shirley, who also wrote unforgettable 90s goth film The Crow. In case you need a little less convincing, I don't think anybody in these pages features ridiculous makeup or latex. Yet. You know those splicers in the later levels be crazy.
Incidentally, Introductory Chunk is the name of my new punk rock band. Just so you all know.
