hey i am a new runner... does anyone have any tips? how to pace myself- etc?

I agree with that administrator man. So first step in training for the 5k is to either jog or walk or do a combination of both the distance

train for distance first then speed, make sure you can cover a distance (even if you have to walk) before you work on how fast you finish

I'm in for the 5k. also I have an awesome trainer if anyone wants to try him for a session or two. He's was #6 in the NY marathon last year.
