Meet Tyler Posey.
Tyler Posey is an actor. Not just any actor- the lead actor on the most
talked-about teen drama on television. Tyler Posey gets paid to run around like
a werewolf, make out with his super-hot costar, and never has to wear a shirt. Ology talks with the star of MTV’s hot
new series Teen Wolf just days before
the premiere goes down and his life changes forever. Tyler Posey has no idea
what he’s getting himself into... but he’s ready.
OLOGY: Let’s get
this part over with: You don’t seem to wear shirts at all… we had to go to
the gym after watching the premiere!
TYLER POSEY: (Laughs) Oh,
you’ve gotta match up to me now?! Actually, the creator [of the show] Jeff
Davis hired me a personal trainer three months before we started shooting-
I was in the gym three times a week, and it was super intense training… it
kicked my ass! But it made a huge difference, so I’m happy.
So now you’re more confident
shooting those scenes?
Completely! I mean, I was never not confident about doing scenes wihout my shirt, I just didn’t
really care- but now I’ll find any excuse to take my shirt off! (Laughs)
What’s the coolest
thing about playing Scott McCall?
The coolest thing about playing Scott McCall is that I’m
actually playing two different characters. I’m playing Scott, the sweet little
innocent kid who’s tired of being an outcast and wants to be a popular, cool
kid. But I’m also playing an insane maniac psycho killer werewolf! They’re two
completely different contrasting roles, and they’re both equally as insane, and
it’s just so much fun playing both of them.
Was it tough, having
to play a werewolf?
It’s not that difficult, being a wolf- it’s kinda hard,
because there’s nothing you can look at to try and act like a werewolf- there’s
no werewolves out there you can research to get the role right! So I basically
got to do my own thing with it- definitely getting into all the makeup really
helped to get into character. I felt super creepy!
What’s it like
working with Crystal Reed (Allison)?
Crystal’s amazing. We have really good chemistry, she’s
beautiful… and we get to make out a lot, which is awesome!
And the rest of the
cast?
Everyone on the show is really tight. We’re all close with
each other. We had so much fun- when we first started, we didn’t know anybody,
but we just hung out every single day, and it made our chemistry insane. You
can tell by watching the show- I had so much fun with every single person on
it.
What are your five
favorite things?
Five? I love Blink-182, I love my guitar, I love playing
music, I love music, I love my dog, I love my family, I love acting- dude, I
could go on forever!
What does Tyler look
for in a girl?
Someone who’s super down to Earth! And I want some who’s
straight-up with me, and as real as possible, right from the get-go. That’s
hard to find for both genders, guys and girls. But once I
find her… that’s it, man! I’m sealing the deal!
How’s it feel to be
in the group of celebrity werewolves and vampires (Taylor Lautner, Robert
Pattinson)?
It feels so good! I’m so honored to be compared to any of
those guys. It’s such an insane experience, I’ve been doing this my entire
life, and I’ve been preparing for this moment forever. Now it’s finally here,
and I’m gonna do it 150% and kick ass, man. I’m so excited, I’m so happy to be
where I am, and so grateful for everything that’s fallen on my plate. It’s the
perfect example of following your dreams, and doing whatever you can to fulfill
them. That’s basically what I did… and here I am!
Dude. Are you ready
for this?
Dude, I am so ready
for this sh*t! I mean, you can’t prepare yourself for something like this, but
I’ve been doing this my entire life, ever since I was 6 years old… I’m at a
really good place in my life. I’m definitely ready.
