So, I doubt anyone bought the PBS report that Tupac was alive and living well in New Zealand, but to confirm the falsity of the statement, station officials came forward to explain the situation.
According to a Times Union report, officials stated that hackers cracked the network website to throw up the bogus post, and took responsibility for their shenanigans over an issue they were stirred by from a "Frontline" investigation on WikiLeaks. According to Boing Boing, the broadcast, titled WikiSecrets, caught the attention of hacker group LulzSec, who proceeded to breach website barriers and posted thousands of PBS passwords online, leaving the calling card "All your base
are belong to Lulzsec." The page was reportedly titled: "FREE BRADLEY
MANNING. F*CK FRONTLINE!" (pretty lame. The whole "All Your Base" business has been played out since the Counter-Strike heyday).
Anyway, all has been relatively solved, and just as we all figured, Pac is still dead as was confirmed (though the conspiracy theories will never fade, so believe what you choose). It would have been nice if he was alive though...
