Disney's 'The Lion King' Returns In 3D

On May 26, 2011

It's pretty funny that people just seemed to have figured out that they don't actually have to like, make new movies of quality. They can just rerelease old ones, but with 98% more It's Like They're Popping Right Out Of The Screen. Case in point? James Cameron's Titanic, because he didn't make enough money in 1997.

On September 16, 2011, Disney is re-releasing The Lion King in 3D, the studio announced today. Maybe they're totally copycatting Paramount's rebooted 3D version of the Leo DiCaprio/Kate Winslet historical romance, slated to be released on April 6th, 2012. (Totally going to see it.)

Released in 1994, The Lion King grossed more money than any hand-drawn animated movie of its time, raking in a whopping $783.8 million at the box office. It featured the voices of Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg and James Earl Jones.

Take that sh*t all the way to the bank, Disney. We'll never forgive you for Pirates Of The Carribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, ever.
