Teenagers are sad a lot of the time for inexplicable reasons. I know, I used to be a teenager. I watched Donnie Darko a lot. FEELINGS, people. Anyway, that being said, Perks of Being a Wallflower was one of my favorite books at the time. I haven't reread it since, but I'm assuming that it's still a really beautiful story because Emma Watson signed on. And she makes good decisions because she chose NYU over going back to Brown.

Watson drops out of Brown (before she decided to come to NYU, that's still kind of a rumor)
Anyway, it was announced today that Kate Walsh is going to be playing the mother of the title character Charlie (played by Logan Lerman, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief). Other cast members include Mae Whitman (Ann from Arrested Development...in other words, "her?"), and rumors of Paul Rudd and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries).
I'm actually pretty optimistic about this movie because author Stephen Chbosky wrote the screenplay and is set to direct. That is some authentic sh*t right there. I just hope that he really takes his time to understand how to be a filmmaker, because sometimes authors just don't get it.
What do you think about this casting?
