The famed writer Agatha Christie’s character Miss Marple was
like a matronly precursor to Veronica Mars – a spinster who solved mysteries.
Of course, Hollywood being what it is, Disney's rebooting the classic series and have handed a role appropriate
for Betty White to the lovely young(ish?) Jennifer Garner. The Catch And
Release star will next be seen in the Arthur remake alongside Russell Brand and Greta Gerwig, who we just wrote about three seconds ago.
Apparently Disney’s screenplay has morphed Miss Marple into
a woman “in her 30s/40s.” Go figure. I mean, on the bright side, they didn’t
cast, like... Blake Lively, but still. I like my sleuths octogenarian.
Do you guys think Garner's casting is typical Hollywood BS?
