Sling all the sh*t you want at what is still the world's longest running reality series. Because it's not dying yet. Not even close.
The newest season (25th!) of The Real World Las Vegas premiered to solid ratings (last week's episode with 2.2 million viewers was even 28% up over the premiere), and is still ranking as #1 in it's timeslot for the key 12-34 age demographic. Though the show was already signed up for up to a 26th season of seven strangers, MTV has officially greenlight two more years of MTV's flagship series. Well, arguably... that title may very well now belong to sister show Jersey Shore.
"The Real World has remained relevant for 25 seasons because it continues to capture the lives of young adults, hold a mirror to the challenges they face, and truly reflect the current generation," Jonathan Murray (the show's executive producer) said in a statement.
