Rumors have been going around for the past few days that Wyclef Jean was shot while voting in his homeland of Haiti, but now, Haitian police are claiming a different truth, having released a statement saying that Wyclef was not shot, but simply cut.
After the alleged shooting, Wyclef was released from the hospital in Delmas, claiming that he was shot, and is currently holding up in Petionville. According to a report in Reuters, though, Haitian police chief Vanel Lacroix released a statement that he and his men "met with the doctor who saw him [Wyclef] and he confirmed Wyclef was cut by glass."
Still, in an interview yesterday with CNN, Clef spoke on the issue, saying different:
"Basically, it's night. I'm with my chauffeur, FanFan, get out the car, make a call...make a long story short: we hear what's called in Creole 'catoosh,' the sound of the booms. I look, hand gushing with blood. Jumped in the car with FanFan, ran, picked my crew up, and went to the nearest hospital. I think really, I got grazed, I think. Pras, when he put on Twitter that his cousin just got shot in the hand..."
Would Wyclef lie about being shot? Or, on the flip side, would the police lie about him being shot?
