Happy Fandom Friday! Each week, I highlight an aspect of the various fan communities that have sprung around movies, TV shows, books, games, or even memes, if the level of dedication is awesome enough.
Most fans write their fic and make their art just for love of the game, so to speak. But let's be honest--sometimes it's really, really cool to own a piece of the series that has captured your heart. Michael Ausiello, spoiler king at EW and new head of TV Line, knows your longing. Folded into a recent installment of his Ask Ausiello column was an awesome proclamation: He's auctioning off over 30 pieces of swag collected over the last ten years of his career.
You can browse his collection--and it is quite impressive--on eBay. We're talking fun promotional pieces from beloved shows past: cheeky themed pieces referencing in-jokes or signed by stars and writers. The auction lasts until February 13; here's a taste of what the most sought-after items. (Bids current as of the writing of this post...)
Firefly Cargo Crate Press Kit - $730

Never opened (and from 2002), but likely filled with all sorts of fun press kit stuff to entice new viewers--I'm guessing an episode or two, maybe some Alliance and Independent-themed paraphernalia, and blue gloves.
Battlestar Galactica Framed "Last Supper" Art Print - $500

#886 out of 1,850 prints mailed out to journalists, this promo pic hinted at the tensions in the final season of BSG back in early 2009. In my opinion, this is the best TV-show take on The Last Supper; the Lost one doesn't come close.
Signed Gilmore Girls Script: "Wedding Bell Blues" (100th Episode) - $395

This is the kind of memorabilia I would be tempted to drop four hundred bucks on... It's a landmark episode written and directed by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, and it's autographed by Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Scott Patterson (Luke).
House Medical Clipboard Press Kit - $350
A fun mix of realistic stuff--House's clipboard, scrip pad, and stethoscope--as well as a themed mousepad, syringe (pen?), and production notes.
Bart Simpson Blackboard - $214

The Simpsons love is strong with the fans who are ratcheting up the price on this piece of memorabilia.
Of course, there are plenty more for perhaps more affordable prices. (Regardless, all the proceeds go to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.) Put in your bid now, and you too can own a piece of TV treasure.
