OK, this barely makes it into Celebs news--the lady in question was a contestant on Germany's Big Brother--but it fits the parameters of what this channel covers, mostly the perils of fame. Porn star Cora, whose real name was Carolin Berger (or, according to Wikipedia, Carolin Ebert), died on January 21 after her sixth breast enlargement surgery.
It's believed that after the January 11 procedure--intended to enlarge her bust from 34F to 34G--at Hamburg University Hospital, Berger suffered two cardiac arrests; she was put into an artificial coma. Her husband Tim told The Sun that unfortunately, Berger was too far gone at that time: "The brain damage was too great. Her blood pressure dropped steadily, physiological functions gave out--then she went to sleep quietly."
Berger must have known the risks of going under the knife for a sixth time, especially considering that she weighed only 106 pounds, but according to the reports, she wanted this surgery in order to maintain her publicity. She was on the tenth season of Big Brother Germany, which aired from January to August 2010.
As we pointed out in the headline, "Sexy Cora" was also a porn star, having won two awards as "Best Amateur Actress" in 2010. In 2009 she was hospitalized for a sex-related injury, as she attempted to give 200 men blowjobs (link SFW); she only made it to 75 before she began to have trouble breathing.
For all of the bizarre earmarks of this post, it's still a tragedy that someone who got a taste of fame felt so compelled to alter her body, and perhaps her lifestyle, to hold on to that attention. We can only hope that she can rest in peace, and that her husband can make his peace as well.
