According to the group’s official Twitter account, nineties pop icons No Doubt are back together in the recording studio and working on a new album, their sixth overall and first since 2001’s Rock Steady.

Billboard reports that guitarist Tom Dumont also took to the band’s website message boards to clear up details surrounding the new record:
"We worked (in a little studio) most of last year writing songs. We 'demo' them as we write, which is like making rough draft recordings… Now, starting today, we're back in a real studio really recording again… [There are] two new ND babies coming soon--mine and Tony's--so there will be a little delay for that… The goal is to write a couple songs more this year and of course finish recording all of them."
The group has been on extended hiatus since 2004, with lead singer Gwen Stefani embarking on a highly successful solo career and Dumont, drummer Adrian Young, and bassist/keyboardist Tony Kanal working on various side projects. The band reunited for a highly anticipated reunion tour in 2009.
