On one level, the British rock band, Queen, was formed in 1971 consisting of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). On another, I might argue that Queen is one of the most influential rock bands of our current musical age. While Queen might have fallen out of pop-favor for nearly 2 decades, I have recently rediscovered my love for their music. I might also have to go into mourning come November 24 when the 20th Anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death rolls around ('cuz, ya know, I missed it the first time not being born and all)
Made in 1976, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is greatly considered the first real music video ever made. Previously, all promotional videos for music adhered to a strict structure inspired by televised music performances. The band would play all facing forward while stationary cameras covered three different angles (trust me, it was always three) from either a close-up, medium- or wide-shot.Obviously, Queen chose a different route for this single.Watch and enjoy!
