Soul singer Aretha Franklin is battling cancer. According to some sources, it is pancreatic cancer and she has less than a year to live, though that has yet to be confirmed.
She went through a "highly successful" surgery just last week. A family member says the 68-year-old singer is doing "okay" but that her family and friends are "very concerned."
"God is still in control," Aretha wrote in statement after going under the knife. "I had
superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the
city and the country."
At the time, no one knew why she was having surgery, but she had to cancel all her concerts and appearances through next May.
So sad.
