Grey's Anatomy actress and rom-com superstar Katherine Heigl has been a polarizing Hollywood force during the last few years. She's outspoken, somewhat obnoxious and has alienated many of her co-stars and directors. On the other hand, it's nice to see a mainstream Hollywood actress be so ... outspoken, obnoxious, and unafraid to alienate her co-stars and directors.
Anyway, Heigl appeared on Letterman to promote her newest flick, Life As We Know It, and discussed her frequent attempts to kick her 10-year smoking addiction. She's tried and failed before, but this time, as the mom of adopted toddler Naleigh, Heigl means business.
So she whipped out the Smokestik to show Dave and America the wonders of technology: a water vapor-spewing, nicotine-lite battery-powered thing. And you know what? It's charming. She's endearing. I like her. So does Letterman, since she somehow convinced him to take a drag.
The result? Heigl's kicked smoking and Letterman's begun his descent into drugs. Everyone knows Dave's got an addictive personality, and Smokestik really is a gateway to heroin.
