'Psych' recap: "One, Maybe Two, Ways Out"

On Sep 09, 2010

Psych recap: Season 5, episode 9 "One, Maybe Two, Ways Out" (9/8/10)

A U.S. Government Spy named Nadia seeks Shawn and Gus' help in locating an agent who's been missing for a long time. This agent is Strabinsky, the only person who has ever successfully erased his own identity. Nadia also needs to be erased, as the government is trying to capture her for something of which she claims to be innocent. Shawn feels compelled to trust her because she mentions Ewan O'Hara's name.

Nadia shows our heroes a clue that Strabinsky left in her sack, a card with Braille writing on it. Gus deduces that the dots may be referring to a constellation. They conclude that Strabinsky is located in the Fenix Valley of the Los Padres National Forest. Shawn and Gus ask Declan to fly them in his chopper. Declan agrees, and we discover Declan and Juliet have been dating. Sean is mucho jealous.

Our heroes find Strabinsky living in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. He agrees to erase Nadia. After doing so, Nadia instructs Strabinsky to open a file re a mission in Bolivia. When he refuses, she pulls her gun and demands he do so. Strabinsky tells her that in order to open the file, she will need access to a Level 3 security computer inside a government agency. Nadia bolts. Shawn, Gus, and Strabinsky learn that two diplomats were killed during the Bolivia mission and money certificates were stolen.

The SBPD, CIA Agent Driggs, and his assistant, Fong, are now on the hunt for Nadia. Shawn brings the team to the government office, and there, they find a blown up computer and a small half-melted jump drive. Shawn and Gus find Strabinsky again, and he is able to upload half a satellite photograph taken during the Bolivia mission. The photo shows Nadia with the certificates, but the image is only partial.

Our heroes manage to find and arrest Nadia. A phone (that Nadia slipped into Shawn's pocket during the meeting in which he was wearing a wire) sends Shawn a message - the missing half of the satellite photograph. The photo shows Nadia being held at gunpoint by Drigg's assistant, Fong. It seems as though Nadia had managed to escape Fong with the certificates he was attempting to steal. Nadia is acquitted and Fong is arrested.

Unbeknownst to Shawn, Juliet heard him express his true feelings for her while he was wired. Moments before she is about to depart for a romantic trip with Declan, Juliet kisses Shawn. Will she stay or will she go now?
