For the past six years, Stella McCartney has collaborated with Adidas to make cute, but functional, athletic clothing for women; most recently, she dressed tennis player Caroline Wozniacki for Wimbledon. Now, with planning already underway for the 2012 Olympics in London, Adidas has just announced that McCartney will serve as creative director for its line of uniforms for the British team.
The partnership will run from now until the 2012 games, and will feature four collections (also available to the public) that evolve in style. The first is aimed at fans and non-athletes, a men and women's lifestyle collection "inspired by Team GB"; the last will be the official uniforms.
For the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing, members of Team GB showed off cream blazers, navy shirts and pants/skirts, and navy canvas shoes.

As pleasant as those classic colors are, I'd love to see McCartney use some more daring colors with her opening-ceremony designs.
