We're less than a week away from Music's Biggest Night… and onto another round of Ology 2013 GRAMMY predictions: our picks for which bands, artists, albums and songs will win, should win and "what the hell, dude?" should've been nominated.

Today's Category:

Best Pop Solo Performance

The Nominees:

Adele – "Set Fire To The Rain" (Live)

Kelly Clarkson – "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)"

Carly Rae Jepsen – "Call Me Maybe"

Katy Perry – "Wide Awake"

Rihanna – "Where Have You Been"

Will Win:

Carly Rae Jepsen – "Call Me Maybe"

It's a pretty "meh" batch of nominees this year, even by Pop category standards. Only "Call Me Maybe" really managed to reach beyond-smash status, so taking that into consideration along with the fact that it's also up for Song Of The Year (then again, so is "Stronger") leads me to reluctantly think that… oh, hell, who am I kidding? Of course "Call Me Maybe" is going to win this. Duh!

Should Win:

Adele – "Set Fire To The Rain" (Live)

Maybe I'm just nostalgic for last year's Grammys… or maybe I like to believe that Adele can mop the floor with every other pop singer out there, even with a live version of an old song… or maybe it's genuinely my favorite song of the bunch. Probably a combination of all three.

Should've Been Nominated:

Lana Del Rey – "Blue Jeans"

Yes, Lana Del Rey annoys the hell out of me… and her videos make me feel like I need a shower… but against every impulse, I can't not admit that Born To Die was without doubt the year's most immaculately gorgeous pop album. Believe me, I have been and remain the first person to call her out on her nonsense (that dreadful SNL performance, the aforementioned videos), but the conspicuous lack of awards-season buzz feels… I don't know, a little wrong. Am I just being an insane person right now? Probably.

If you aren't already, be sure to follow @ologize and @OlogyMusic on Twitter for real-time GRAMMY telecast bitching/whining on Sunday, February 10 starting at 8:00 p.m. EST. In the meantime, be sure to share your "will win/should win/should've been nominated" GRAMMY picks in the comments section below and check back all month-long for more 2013 GRAMMY predictions!
