Parks and Recreation has been on for several years, so don't hate me for admitting that I've only now just started watching the series from the very start. I've caught an episode here and there, even spoke to Aziz Ansari once about it, but only now am I watching the series in its entirety. And holy Leslie Knope, I am obsessed. And not just because I catch really interesting coincidences inbetween highlights from Ron Swanson and Andy Dwyer. During my latest Netflix marathon, a mention about Jennifer Aniston threw up a red flag.
In the episode "Galentine's Day" in season 2, Knope makes a reference about Aniston and her ex Brad Pitt. So, what's the big deal? Her now fiance Justin Theroux just so happened to be guest starring at the time. Playing Amy Poehler's boyfriend Justin Anderson, both Leslie and Justin decide to take a trip in the hope that they can reunite her mother with a past flame.
Cue Leslie's speech to the camera:
"How often do you get to reunite soul mates? What if I told you, you could reunite Romeo and Juliet? Or Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston? Oh, Jen. I really want you to be happy. Stay away from John Mayer!"
Clearly dating Mayer at the time when this episode aired in 2010, Aniston and Theroux may have already met in 2007 on the set of Tropic Thunder, but it wasn't until after filming Wanderlust in 2010 that rumors began that the two started dating in May 2011.
Who knew while taping the NBC series that he in fact would be the next to date the stunning actress.
