Already The Twilight Saga's third installment is breaking cinema records as Eclipse opens Wednesday night with 4,416 theaters in North America. Previously the record for a release was set by Iron Man 2, which opened to 4,380 screening locations. Apparently people like vampires (and like them more than comic books by a margin of 36 movie theaters).
As one of the many fans with a ticket for 12:01 AM tonight, I am glad the push for theater space is so extensive, but will the film live up to these high expectations? Thursday morning we will be posting a thorough review of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, as well as numbers over the weekend when we see if this film will boot out Toy Story 3 and reign supreme in the box office.
