I'm sending this along for two reasons:
1) I really dig both the original and the cover of "Tonight, Tonight," and
2) Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos looks a lot like yours truly:

In case you weren't sure what your favorite Geekologist looked like, it's pretty much this.
Angelakos was just seven years old when "Tonight, Tonight" was released in 1996. It was a massive hit for the Pumpkins and clearly includes some key touches for both bands, including a high vocal range, a complex arrangement and careful attention to volume dynamics. Now, as part of Levi's new Pioneers Sessions, Angelakos and Passion Pit have covered the '90s smash, producing a minimalist version rich with keyboard dance beats and acoustic guitar artistry. Listen over at SPIN and then check out the rest of the Pioneer Sessions. There, you can download not only this Passion Pit cover, but also a number of other tracks from artists like the Shins and She & Him.
