Most know what a hilarious comedian and actor Rob Riggle is, but who knew that he actually served as a marine too? Riggle recently wrote on his Twitter page about ending his service after more than two decades.
"After 23 years of service, I am retired as of today! Over half my life in the Marines. It was my honor to serve. Semper Fidelis!" he wrote January 1. Riggle is a Unites States Marine Corps Reserve Lieutenant Colonel, a combat veteran, and has earned over 19 medals and ribbons for his work in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
Some of his famous pals couldn't help congratulating him on the big day. One response in particular, included Office star John Krasinski. "Oh man! HUGE day @RobRiggle!" he wrote. "A big congratulations and a much bigger heartfelt thank you for all your service!"
Riggle has been seen in hits like 21 Jump Street, The Other Guys, Going the Distance, Step Brothers, and The Hangover. His career has grown quickly in the industry, and he'll clearly will be sticking around in the future.
So with that, thanks to Riggle for his comedic relief, great acting, and most of all, his service over the past 23 years.
