The Counterfeit Crochet Project was established as a political critique of fashion and overpriced designer goods, by recreating the iconic logos and color schemes with yarn for a fraction of the cost. Sure, a few of the results look miserable, but on the whole these crafty ladies make charming, functional, completely wearable bags and accessories. Here are some of our favorites:





The homemade imitations have been featured in panels on ownership and adaptation; as well as exhibits in Istanbul, Beijing, and Manila. They also offer tutorials on making the classic Chanel, Fendi, and Gucci logos. We've already defended knockoffs, and think that this project is similarly sensible.
