Forward. It's been the slogan for Barack Obama's 2012 campaign, and now it's the slogan he has given his campaign. After winning re-election Tuesday night, Obama spoke to his campaign about how grateful he is for all of their work. During an emotional speech, Obama touches on where he began and the future that he knows all of them will have once they all go their separate ways.
"And so when I come here and I look at all of you, what comes to mind—it’s not that you guys actually remind me of myself. It’s the fact that you are so much better than I was in so many ways. You’re smarter, you’re better organized, and you’re more effective. And so I’m absolutely confident that all of you are going to do just amazing things in your lives," he says. "The work that you guys have done means that the work I’m doing is important, and I’m really proud of that. I’m really proud of all of you."
The speech. The cheers. The tear. What a way to start off the next four years.
Jackie Fayer:
He seems more emotional than he was after his election four years ago. I don't remember him getting chocked up then. He did this in Iowa also. I like seeing this side of him.
