And honestly, when I first discovered this news, I immediately figured this was Canada's fault. I'm glad to know that I was totally right.
The number one thing that Williamsburg hipsters want more than anything, like even more than a job at Urban Outfitters, is for the fourth season of Community to finally land on NBC, because let's face it, it's not like NBC is the home of breakout scripted series. So what's the hold up? We aren't sure: the original October 19th date has been nixed by the Peacock, with no replacement date set in sight.
But on Canada's TV station Citytv, a network whose primetime schedule is comprised of mostly American series like ABC's Modern Family and Fox's New Girl and CBS' How I Met Your Mother (and why can't WE have all these things on one channel?), Community was listed to return on Friday, November 9th, according to Splitsider, which basically would have meant that everyone would have seen the fourth season of Community via illegal downloading, so suck it, NBC. But then that date was then changed to Friday, January 11th. And then it got moved to my favorite day of the week, called "NO DATE HAS YET BEEN SET FOR THE RETURN OF COMMUNITY," as it's listed on the Citytv site. So, yet again, no one will get Community, and everyone will like it.
UPDATE: Actress Yvette Nicole Brown has tweeted that Community will premiere on Thursday, February 7th, which is weird considering that it was banished to the Friday timeslot at NBC's Upfronts. More to come.
