It's one step in the right direction for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The royal couple won their first ruling over controversial photographs of Kate on Tuesday. The photos in question depict Kate sunbathing topless while on vacation in France with husband William. A French judge barred further publication of the pictures, and demanded that French magazine Closer – the first to obtain and print the pictures – must give William and Kate the originals within 24 hours. The ruling only applies in France.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome the judge's ruling," a Palace spokesperson said.
This was only the first battle for the couple; William and Kate continue to take legal action over the photographs.
The photos have sparked a firestorm in the journalism field. Though no British publication has printed the photographs as of yet, Michael O' Kane, editor of the Irish Daily Star (who has published the pictures), has subsequently been suspended.
"The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so," St. James Palace said in a statement. "Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them."
