It's been a great year for Adele, obviously, with Best Original Song wins for "Skyfall" at the Oscars, Golden Globes and Brit Awards… and PJ Harvey recently set a record by winning the prestigious Mercury Prize for an unprecedented second time&hell...
Jordin Sparks was 17 years old when she won American Idol. But Sparks sees texting and driving as an important issue not just for teens, but for their parents too.
"It's no secret that my generation is addicted to our phones," Sparks wrote in an essay last year. "But, so is my mom. This isn't just a teen problem -- it's a family problem."
Sparks, now 22, has been a tireless campaigner to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, and has led a great many of her fans to make pledges never to text and drive.
AT&T has a message for drivers of all ages: It can wait. There's no text message so important that it is worth endangering lives over. The message can wait until you're safely off the road. Sparks makes another recommendation: use a "designated texter."
"Reaching for your phone while driving increases your chances of crashing by nine times," Sparks writes. "We have to come together -- as friends, as families -- to take control. As much as I love to text and tweet, I've decided that no message is worth my life and I hope it's not worth yours either."
We encourage you to check out AT&T’s website, itcanwait.com, to learn about the dangers of texting while driving and take the pledge to never text and drive again.
