No matter where you stand politically, I think we can all come together in a moment of bi-partisan cooperation and agree that yes, Barack Obama has the best collection of musicians at his back. Again. Yesterday's third and final day of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina was jam-packed with rousing speeches and musical performances—the highlight of the latter coming from relatively newfound Democratic champions the Foo Fighters, who pulled out the acoustic guitars to perform unplugged but definitely killer renditions of "My Hero" and "Walk" for an enthusiastic (to say the least) stadium full of delegates.
Check it out below.
"My Hero" is an inspired choice, of course… and not just because previous Republican presidential nominee John McCain used the song at campaign rallies in 2008 without the Foo Fighters approval or permission. Nice to hear the song where it rightfully belongs. Can we also take a moment to salute the dude at 5:56? Kudos for missing the "they're playing it unplugged, brah" memo, sir. I'll take levels of excitement you didn't see anywhere in Tampa last week for $200, Alex…
