Blacksburg, VA dream pop band Wild Nothing—vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jack Tatum with bassist Jeff Haley, guitarist Nathan Goodman and drummer Michael Skattum.
Sounds Like:
Airy, dreamy, lightly shoegaze coated synthesizer pop—billowing little clouds of chill-out goodness coasting on barely-there rhythms and Tatum's warm milk vocals. A mainstay of the Blacksburg college rock scene (he previously fronted local bands Jack And The Whale and Facepaint), Tatum began recording as Wild Nothing in 2009, garnering some quick attention with a gorgeous cover of Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting." Recruiting Jeff, Nathan and original drummer Max Brooks into the band, he released the group's debut single "Summer Holiday" later that year, with full-length debut Gemini following the next spring. Follow-up EP Golden Haze dropped in late 2010—their latest album Nocturne hit record stores earlier this year.
