Love him or not, nobody plays (or tours) quite like Prince. The increasingly quirky one-man pop machine has just announced he'll be swooping through Chicago next month on his latest citywide multi-date residency, "Welcome 2 Chicago." His first dates in the Windy City since 2004, Prince's latest residency (previous jaunts included New York City and Los Angeles) kicks off Spetember 24 at the United Center, with more dates and venues still to be announced.

Unlike previous residencies, "Welcome 2 Chicago" will feature collaborative efforts with Rebuild The Dream, Van Jones' community organization dedicated toward "[building] strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up." As explained in the official press announcement:
"On site at the United Center, Prince and Rebuild the Dream will offer opportunities to learn about, support, and take part in rebuilding vibrant and sustainable communities. Socially-conscious businesses, tech start-ups, entrepreneurs, and other innovators will offer specific tools that individuals and communities can use to improve their economic situation in the short- as well as long-term."
Helping local communities and getting your groove on with Prince all night? What's not the love, right? Tickets for the September 24 show go on sale next Thursday, September 6. Be sure to get on that, friends!
